Grave Mania: Pandemic Pandemonium is the sequel to the award-winning Grave Mania: Undead Fever time management game. The first game taught me and my team a lot about publishing with Big Fish Games (BFG), which was why I thought that the second installation was much better. Even the reviews over at BFG said so. I loved the side games, and I couldn’t say the same thing for its predecessor.

I remember dreading a lot of Undead Fever’s side games, especially Johnny Loca’s whack-a-mole/chase-the-zombie stages. As the producer, I took it upon myself to test these features over and over and over again and I have to admit, playing Johnny wasn’t such a pleasant task. With Pandemic Pandemonium, I experienced none of the dread.

I actually looked forward to wrapping up a chapter because it meant I can play this match-3 chase game with this giant zombie hand.

Alas, Pandemic Pandemonium wasn’t as popular as Undead Fever. It’s a shame because this is where much of the Locas’ back story was explored. Nevertheless, I’m keeping my hopes up that this could win something by the end of 2013, even if I’m no longer part of the company that developed it.
